Hello! I’m Alberto Jiménez, and I’m glad you’ve decided to visit https://datablogcafe.com/. This virtual corner is my personal space, where I jot down my discoveries and reflections, a kind of intimate log about the world of data analysis and data science.

A bit about me:

My journey in this field began in 2019 when I decided to change my professional path as electronics and pursued the Master’s in Business Intelligence and Data Science at IEBS. School of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurs.

During that period, I immersed myself completely in my studies, convinced that my final master’s project should fully reflect the knowledge gained, both technically and conceptually. With my background in electronic sound generation (once again, data!), I aimed to push myself to the limit and create a project that mirrored my experience, was practical, and thoroughly explored key Business Intelligence concepts. However, in this case, my focus centered on the manipulation and exhaustive analysis of sound samples instead of business data.

The project was titled:

FREQUENCY CLASSIFICATION OF SOUND SAMPLES THROUGH DIMENSIONALITY REDUCTION BY MULTIDIMENSIONAL SCALING

Honestly, the name I chose could have been a bit shorter 😅.

Essentially, I found similarities between conventional business analysis and audio analysis, especially in dimensionality reduction. Extracting information to classify audio samples turned out to be a fascinating discovery, providing me with a unique perspective on work. Additionally, I used one of my collections of sound samples as the main set for analysis, developing a frequency classifier based on dimensionality reduction. Although seemingly far from the business realm, this approach demonstrated that I had successfully understood and acquired the required knowledge in the master’s program, and more than that, I had managed to establish an analogy between two seemingly different subjects.

Upon completing the master’s, I immediately identified the need to strengthen my technical skills, and after an exhaustive search, I was fortunate to discover dataquest.io. This platform gave me the opportunity to dive deep into Python and the fundamental libraries for data analysis, such as Pandas, NumPy, Seaborn, and Matplotlib.

Some projects from Dataquest in my Github:

To this day, I still maintain my profile on dataquest.io. Therefore, and as a good way to share my experience, dataquest.io is a place I recommend to anyone interested in delving into the world of data.

The journey through dataquest.io has been very (very very) valuable on a personal level; it has allowed me to expand my programming skills, delve even deeper into data analysis, and learn from the correction of others. Excited by this new and vast learning experience, I decided to complement it by obtaining the Google Data Analytics certificate.

I hope you now have a clearer idea of who I am and what I do. If you’re interested in knowing a little more, don’t hesitate to let me know. It’s evident that if you’ve made it this far, you have a genuine interest, so I genuinely want to thank you for the time you’ve dedicated to me.
